Oh God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1

Engedi is a refreshing natural spring of water in the midst of the desert wilderness of eastern Israel. It is mentioned in the Bible as one of the places of refuge to which David fled when Saul was seeking to kill him. Perhaps he had this very place in mind when he wrote passages such as Psalm 63, which is quoted above.

It is in this same spirit that Engedi Ministries seeks to lead people out of life's desert and to the "living water" of God's grace, which flows freely to those who put their faith in the redeeming work of His Son Jesus Christ.

The prophet Jeremiah spoke of this concept of "living water" in the following verse:

My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
the spring of living water
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

Jeremiah 2:13

When we reject the "living water" of God's grace and place our hope of salvation in anything other than the finished work of Jesus Christ upon the cross, the results are always the same: dissatisfaction, emptiness, frustration, disillusionment, and ultimately, despair. Have you had enough of the stagnant cistern water of materialism, self-help philosophy, and empty religion? Has the desert of legalism left you parched and weary, or have you become hopelessly lost in the wilderness of liberalism? Have you sought to win God's favor by striving to be "good enough," only to arrive at the point of brokenness and despair when you discover that you can't? Have your wasted efforts left you questioning your faith altogether?

There is a remedy for such circumstances. It is found only in the overflowing spring of God's free grace as revealed in the pages of His Word. We at Engedi Ministries invite you to delve with us into the riches of this grace; to drink deeply of these life giving waters.

Come.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Psalm 34:8
